Fresh Branding Photos for an Atlanta Web Designer
Jessie came to me wanting photos for the launch of her new company, Empower House. She has a great eye for visuals so she came to me with a color palette in mind (though that’s definitely not required), and I helped her pick out props that would match it all perfectly.
We hired a makeup artist (we love you, Sarah Fox!), booked Kiah Studios, and then spent time dreaming up the best way to achieve her goals for the photos: show up polished, simple, bright, playful, all while adding just the right amount of color.
And the real win is this: her launch went exceptionally well & she’s still crushing it month after month creating beautiful websites for her clients! They come to her already so aligned on style because her photos show off who she is as a business owner.
As part of my process, step 1 of every branding shoot is a strategy call where we look at a Pinterest board, like this one! It helps clients to have a visual to say yes/no to rather than trying to pull their ideal style out of thin air (especially for my clients who aren’t in visual/creative fields).
During that strategy call, we discuss the poses, the props, the outfits, and make sure everything feels aligned with the goals for the shoot.
Then, I turn it all into a shot list like the one below.
This is mostly for me to reference, but it helps you know what the plan is for the day. I’m guiding you through it the whole time to make sure that we get every single photo you need during our time together.
No guessing where to go next or wasting time on decisions in the moment. We have a plan, a schedule, and even a list of props that I get ready while you’re changing outfits.
For Jessie, we wanted to create a ton of variety, so that’s what you see on this list. & this is only two of her outfits!
This list turned into a gallery full of custom stock imagery for her to use all over her website, headshots to swap out throughout the year, lifestyle images for beautiful Instagram content, and so much more.
The color palette was on-brand, the items she brought along from her office and home were so perfect, and we were able to create a ton of content for her in just a few hours.
I’ve told Jessie this personally, but she gets a gold star for implementation.
Once she had her photos in hand, she updated her website, launched beautifully on social media, and is still using the photos a few months later. It makes me smile every time I see them pop up!
